The Power Magnets dived into the fascinating Micro World! We cut paper in the smallest pieces we could and used a pencil lead to break sugar. With our magnifying lenses we observed those tiny particles and asked ourselves what the smallest thing we can see is. Are there even smaller ones?
We have learned about atoms, electrons, protons and neutrons. And we even made our own Helium atoms using pom poms and Lego blocks!
But STEM Academy is not just about studying but about doing! We decided to test some chemical properties of liquids. We saw how detergents interact with food coloring and milk to make the colors move and carried out a chromatography experiment to make colors climb on paper.
