Spring is here! Are you sure? How can you tell?
Well, there are signs. Let's look at some of them. The grass is green. There are flowers all around and little buds. The trees are blooming. The chicks are hatching. The birds build nests on trees. The swallows come to visit. The bees wake up. There are butterflies and ladybugs. Can you see all these things? Let's go outside and look for them.
As we were walking to the door, we passed by Mrs. Vaso's office and ... surprise, surprise ... we saw some eggs in a special box. Yes, we had found our first sign of spring. Hatching chicks.
We went outside and look the grass around us was green! And there were flowers! And .. wow... even the trees has flowers on them! They were bloomimg!
Then, we started filling out our chart by sticking the things we found on it.
We looked and looked and looked but we couldn't find any nests on trees or swallows. So we put these under "Not yet". And we kept on looking for the insects that come out in spring : bees, butterflies, ladybugs.
We hadn't found any at this part of the school. So, Seeds, are you ready for another long walk and become detectives of insects? Let's go!!!
