Distance learning: secondary education
19th March 2020

Haseotes Middle School

The Haseotes Middle School students continue to learn from home thanks to the moodle online learning platform. The Principal and teachers upload presentations, spreadsheets, booklets and other tools that help students not only maintain the knowledge they gained over the past months but also gain new knowledge on subjects that are feasible to be taught online.

Furthermore, a set up daily schedule for online live communication allows teachers to answer questions, provide explanations and, most importantly, nurture responsibility, independence and participation.

General and Vocational High Schools

Since day one of the suspension of classes, the Principals and teachers of both the General and Vocational High Schools took action to keep the learning process alive. Through the moodle online learning platform, students receive educational material (notes, tasks etc.) and communicate with their teachers via live chat.

During this challenging time, asynchronous education – although it cannot replace the interaction between students and parents in a classroom – is a valuable tool. Paired with synchronous educational methods used, this learning system ensures that students don’t feel estranged from their daily routine. At the same time, parents receive updates and – if requested – advice and support on keeping the spirits high.
