Educational games, walks around the campus, cooking, reading and sleeping at the library, form the new program offered to Elementary School students by the American Farm School. “Sleepovers on the Farm” premiered on October 20th with the participation of more than 30 students between 9 and 12 years old.
The new program aims to change the way most students see libraries: not as sterilized and quiet places but as creative and welcoming environments that encourage collaboration, foster love for books and teach effective use of resources. The participants were excited to research, collaborate, play, narrate, dramatize stories and watch movies before falling asleep in their sleeping bags.
