The Thessaloniki Schools for Experiential Learning operate on the premises of the American Farm School and offer anextended, innovative educational program to young children 4 to 15 years of age.   • English Language Substitute Teacher

Job description:

The English teacher is charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Implements the extended literacy curriculum and develops additional educational material
  • Incorporates experiential, environmental, and innovative projects in their lessons
  • Collaborates systematically with all teaching staff and assistants of the School
  • Teaches using modern teaching methods (team-oriented cooperative learning and differentiated learning, experiential approaches, and the use of suitable IT tools)
  • Communicates with parents providing timely and professional feedback
  • Attends community activities addressed to student families
  • Participates in professional development seminars

He/she reports to the Director of English Language Planning and the Principals of the Schools in which he/she teaches

Necessary qualifications:

  • University Degree in English Language and Literature from a Greek University or equivalent DOATAP-recognized program abroad
  • A minimum of 5-year experience in teaching young English language learners (ages 6-10)
  • Enrolment in the private education teachers’ database (epetirida) of the Ministry of Education
  • Excellent skills in the use of IT technology and its applications in education
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence and educational innovation
  • Impeccable work ethics

Additional qualifications:

  • Postgraduate studies in a relevant subject
  • Experience in the implementation of environmental or other innovative programs
  • Native speakers will be preferred

Social Media & Digital Communications Coordinator

The Department of Institutional Communications of the American Farm School & Perrotis College is looking for a talented, motivated and creative individual to join its team as a Social Media & Communications Coordinator.

Job description:

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator, participates in the development  and implements our social media strategy, develops original content in Greek and English; creates posts for the institution’s social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin, Flickr) and websites (www.afs.edu.gr www.perrotiscollege.gr); supports the department’s needs related to –mostly- digital communications;

Responsibilites:

  • Creating engaging text, image and video content;
  • Researching audience preferences and current trends;
  • Designing posts to sustain readers’ interest;
  • Measuring web traffic and monitoring SEO;
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness;
  • Reporting on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans;
  • Developing an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics;
  • Overseeing social media accounts’ layout and suggesting new ways to attract different audiences of interest to the institution
  • Communicating with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing, New Media or related fields or Bachelor’s Degree in any field accompanied by Certified Training in new media & digital communications;
  • 1 year of experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role;
  • Excellent Greek and English language writing skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media best practices;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access);
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics;
  • Basic knowledge of CMS;
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels.

Recruitment Officer at the Institutional Recruitment Office

Job Mission

To contribute to the planning, development, implementation of strategies and action plans for the enhancement of institutional recruitment.

Job Description

The Recruitment Officer will work closely with the recruitment and admissions team, under the supervision of the Director of Recruitment and will be charged with the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of goals and objectives for the recruitment office.  Recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance recruitment, selection and admissions
  • Proposes and implements recruitment actions, marketing strategies and special events in the fulfilment of recruitment purposes and enrollment management goals
  • Visits schools, makes presentations, speaks to groups or individual students and meets with school counsellors, teachers and administrators to promote outreach activities
  • Promotes and represents the institution during school visits, open days, campus tours, recruitment workshops, fairs, public relation events, promotional opportunities and prospective students counselling in different on and off campus settings. Participates as a team member in planning, organising and implementing such events 
  • Provides counselling to students and families, responds to queries from walk-ins, emails and/or phone calls. Consults students and families regarding admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, alternative educational opportunities, university policies and procedures
  • Compiles reports, statistics and proposals regarding student recruitment programs as requested
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Preferably a degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Communications or a related area
  • Two to three years field sales experience
  • Ability in written & verbal communication in both English and Greek
  • Strong IT, presentation and Office management skills.
  • Driver’s Licence, ability to travel freely, ability to work during weekends or extended hours occasionally
  • Completed military service for male candidates
