The American Farm School recently honored its third President, the late Bruce M. Lansdale, at a ceremony commemorating his life and the 10th anniversary of his passing, with a presentation of the book, The Sower: Bruce M. Lansdale.
Written by his son-in-law, David L. Willis, the work remembers the life of Mr. Lansdale, who left an invaluable legacy of leadership in agri-food education and development, as well as in shaping the paradigm of the "inspirational leader-manager" in all facets of life.
AFS & Perrotis College President, Dr. Panos Kanellis, Board Chairman Dr. David Acker, Trustee Mr. Christos Folias and Mr. Willis, spoke to those gathered about Bruce Lansdale’s 35-year tenure, which saw the School through many of its most important milestones. The introduction of innovative educational programs bridging Greece and the US, the unique ways he influenced and inspired those around him, and his visionary form of leadership that made the world look ahead to the future, are just some of the reasons he is still so fondly remembered.
Although the book is not for general sale, those who wish to acquire this work and contribute to the School through this purchase may contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Proceeds will benefit the American Farm School Historical Archive housed at the Dimitris & Aliki Perrotis Library.
We came to teach, but we ended up learning
We have come to change, but in the end we have changed
We came to inspire, but others inspired us instead
We have come to bring a new life to the peoples of Greece,
But it is they who have brought us a new life-
Bruce and Tad Lansdale.
