The Little Green Farmers program received the gold award in the Green Awards competition organised recently in Greece for the first time. The program supports proper nutrition for children, through the creation of a platform that helps minors and adults to develop gardening activities at home, school and neighborhoods. Little Green Farmers is implemented by the Strategic Project Management Office of the American Farm School in collaboration with the AgroApps company, within the framework of the initiative RESEARCH - CREATE – INNOVATE, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national funds.
Research on nutritional needs began over last summer with the help of the “Summer on the Farm” program participants and continues in the Pre-K and Kindergarten with the participation of students, teachers and parents. The AFS Elementary School serves as the exclusive pilot program for the digital guide.
The Green Awards evaluation committee comprised 33 distinguished academics, scientists and professionals in the field of ecology, sustainability, environment and sustainability. The awards were organised by Boussias under the auspices of the Panhellenic Association of Chemical Engineers and the Hellenic Association of Environmental Scientists.
