Four more AFS General High School students to fulfill their dreams and study on U.S. Universities
Four more AFS General High School Seniors were added to the long list of successes from our Study USA program and will continue their studies next fall in American universities.
Through our “Study USA” program a total of around 46 students over the past seven years have been studying traveled to the USA for their university studies – all with significant scholarships. Thus far this year Yiorgos Golois, Athanasia Kitoudi, Melina Kofokotsiou, and Marisel Merollari have been accepted and all enthusiastically agreed that AFS provided them the wonderful opportunity to expand their horizons and start their academic careers with excitement. Each student was accepted in their first choice institution and each had the full economic need met by their chosen college. Yiorgos Golois will attend Kalamazoo College in Michigan, Athanasia Kitoudi will continue at Union College in New York, Melina Kofotsiou will study at Pomona College in California, and Marisel Merollari will continue his studies at Bowdoin College in Main.
One of our 2018 graduates joined our 2019 Study USA group and also had success at her first choice college. Eleftheria Vogiatzoglou will attend Mt Holyoke in Massachusetts with another full scholarship! The total financial aid award for the five students thus far accepted is $1,187,292!
We have another Study USA student waiting for her results. The rest of AFS senior students will continue their studies at Hellenic universities or at Perrotis College.
