We support the community affected by wildfires in Greece
11th August 2021

Extreme heat conditions are driving wildfires in Attica, Evia and the Peloponnese that have destroyed thousands of acres of forest and have forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes.

The American Farm School stands by those affected by this tragedy and has sent packages of educational farm products (pasta and rice) to organisations gathering food for those in need, as well as to the social kitchen “O Αllos Αnthropos” currently preparing meals for those who were left without a home because of the fires. Furthermore, the School will donate a portion of all educational farm product sales over the month of August to the Hellenic Red Cross.

A special fund has been created to raise money for two scholarships, further extending our support to the community: one for a student from the areas affected by the fires, interested in studying Environmental Science at Perrotis College and one for a firefighter’s dependent, wishing to study at the High School or IEK.
