The American Farm School/Perrotis College is taking the current news of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak very seriously. As we are a school of all grade levels, it is imperative that we be proactive and ensure a safe environment for all of our students.

Please find below the latest relevant information regarding the status of the coronavirus in Greece:
  • Coronavirus has reached Europe, with the virus most highly concentrated in Italy
  • The first incidence of the virus in Greece was confirmed on February 26, 2020. The patient is being treated in a special unit of a Greek hospital and has mild symptoms. Authorities are currently undertaking comprehensive measures to contact any person who came into contact with the patient. More information can be found here: http://www.ekathimerini.com/249981/article/ekathimerini/news/greek-authorities-boost-response-after-first-coronavirus-case
  • The child of the first patient is in quarantine along with his mother. Two additional cases were confirmed yesterday in Athens. There have been no others in the last 24 hours. Thus far all have had mild symptoms and they expect to be sent home soon. Nonetheless, the government maintains strict control measures.
As an institution, Perrotis College strictly adheres to guidelines issued by US health authorities. All students are aware of these guidelines and instructed to follow them closely.

Our students have been advised not to travel to the affected regions (such as Italy) https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/italy- travel-advisory.html. In the case that they, or individuals with whom they have close contact, have recently visited one of these areas and show cold or flu-like symptoms, they have been instructed to follow the protocol set by the National Organization for Public Health. Staff and faculty are fully aware of symptoms and are ready to assist should anyone exhibit these symptoms.

All components of the American Farm School/Perrotis College continue to operate as usual. For updates concerning COVID-19 please visit https://eody.gov.gr/.
