Συμμετοχή του έργου TERMINET στον «ΑΓΡΟΤΗ ΤΗΣ ΧΡΟΝΙΑΣ»

The market and rural economy newspaper Agrenda organized the "Farmer of the Year" Awards for the 13th consecutive year. An idea inspired by the Agrenda team, it was first implemented in 2008 and has today evolved into the most recognized and acclaimed institution in the industry.
 
The "Farmer of the Year" Awards took place on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Xanthi. During the event, various panels were implemented with the central theme "Asymmetries of yesterday, digital transformation and new models of cooperation in agricultural production", in which renowned scientists of the Agri-Food Sector participated.
 
Dr. Vicky Krystallidou, Director of the Innovation and Impact HUB of the American School of Agriculture, participated in the open discussion panel on "Dairy Belt and Livestock Investments". Through her presentation, she presented the current state of digital transformation in the Agri-Food Sector, innovation options and the benefits of producers through Intelligent Agriculture.
 
Touching on the subject of digital transformation, he had the opportunity to present the HORIZON TERMINET project and specifically the UC1 "User-centric devices in Smart Farming". TERMINET's vision is to provide a new next-generation reference architecture based on cutting-edge technologies such as SDN, multi-access edge computing and data virtualization for the next-generation IoT, while introducing new, low-latency, intelligent IoT devices to the market targeting various use cases.
 
The same open discussion panel was attended by the Minister of Agricultural Development & Food, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, who expressed feelings of admiration for the American Agricultural School, which is characterized by knowledge, culture and education covering every level of education in combination with the teacher farm, product standardization and promotion. At the school, knowledge in the Primary Sector is passed on with seriousness, responsibility and reliability.
 
On January 26, 2024, the TERMINET (nexT gEneRation sMart INterconnectEd ioT) project successfully participated in an event organized by the InoFA cluster, highlighting its role in the digital transformation of the food supply chain. The event took place at the "Diamelas Kreopoleio" restaurant, a member of the InoFA cluster, and was a valuable opportunity to inform InoFA members about the technological innovations that promote the development of the sector.
 
InoFA (Internet of Food Alliance) is an Innovation Collaborative that brings together research institutions, educational institutions, technology providers and businesses operating across the agri-food supply chain. The purpose of InoFA is to support the digital transformation of the agricultural and supply chain, promoting the adoption of high technology in the traditional professions associated with food production and the supply chain.
 
At this event, the TERMINET project made an important presentation highlighting the importance of innovation in the agriculture and food production sector. TERMINET's platform and the necessary data collection equipment were presented as critical factors in achieving this digital transformation. The Federated Learning (FL) technique used by TERMINET enables the exploitation of a large number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and huge amounts of data to produce high-quality performances.
 
The American College of Agriculture, through the Innovation and Impact HUB, are leaders of Use Case 1 on "User-Centric Devices in Smart Farming". TERMINET's presence at the InoFA event reflects the close collaboration between science, technology and the agricultural sector to create a sustainable and innovative agricultural production.
