The Pro-Lamb project with project code Μ16ΣΥΝ2-00697 and business plan title "Strengthening the sheep farming sector through the production and promotion of heavier carcasses" was approved and is being implemented in the context of Action 2 of Sub-Measures 16.1 - 16.2 "Establishment and operation of Business Groups of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability" of the Rural Development Program (RDP) 2014-2020. The project lasts 36 months.
Pro-Lamb's goals are:

Increasing the income of livestock farmers by entering new markets

The reduction of "heavy" carcase imports, utilizing carcase evaluation systems, comparative evaluation of Greek and foreign breeds, standardized production, slaughtering of sheep and goat meat and traceability.
The project is implemented by the coordinator of the Innovation and Impact HUB project of the American Farm School in collaboration with the Industrial Slaughterhouse of Imathia, Group of Professionals of the Nutrition Sector, Elassona Goat and Sheep Breeders Cooperative, National Interprofessional Meat Organization, Farms of Central Macedonia, GreenProjects, Diamela Butcher, International University of Greece, Agromet, ELGO Dimitra and Proud Farm.
