Interreg project approval - IPA CBC IDEAS
29th April 2022

The Interreg - IPA CBC project entitled "IDEAS - Innovation, Development and Employment in the Agri-Food Sector" was approved and is being implemented within the framework of the INTERREG IPA Cross-Border Cooperation program "Greece - Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020". The project has a duration of 18 months.

The agri-food sector is of central importance to the economies of both Greece and North Macedonia, and it is continuously growing. The IDEAS project - Innovation, Development, and Employment in the Agri-food Sector - has been developed by organizations with experience in rural development and the agri-food sector, who systematically invest in research and innovation in the sector.

However, the sector faces a significant lack of skilled human resources capable of adapting to the dynamic challenges of the natural and market environment. This is where the IDEAS project aims to make a difference.

IDEAS intends to channel the energy and qualifications of young professionals to bring innovation and increase efficiency and productivity in the sector.

Specifically, it aims to complement other policy tools such as the IPARD II Program 2014-2020, the Regional Operational Program, and the RIS3 of Central Macedonia, addressing identified yet unmet needs. However, the sector faces a significant lack of skilled human resources capable of adapting to the dynamic challenges of the natural and market environment. This is where the IDEAS project aims to make a difference.

The lead partner of the project is Foundation for Local & IT Development - Gevgelija and the partnership consists of the Perrotis College and the Rural Development Network of North Macedonia.

The Project is co-funded by the European Union and by national funds of the participating countries.
