The Gen-Sheep Milk project with project code Μ16ΣΥΝ2-00068 and business plan title "Utilization of the genetic material of breeds and breeding systems for the creation of products with increased added value from sheep milk" was approved and is being implemented in the context of Action 2 of Sub-Measures 16.1 – 16.2 "Establishment and operation of Operational Groups of the European Innovation Partnership for the productivity and sustainability of agriculture" of the Rural Development Program (RDP) 2014 – 2020. The project has a duration of 36 months.
The objectives of the Gen-Sheep milk project are:

The utilization of modern genomic technologies for the production of better quality products

The correct guidance of Greek breeders that will lead to the production of better quality and higher yield of sheep's milk

The production of higher quality and, by extension, higher pricing of cheese products where, through exports, will have a positive effect both on the income of the producers and on the Greek economy
The project is implemented by the coordinator of the Innovation and Impact HUB project of the American Farm School in collaboration with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, National Center for Research and Technological Development (INEB), Central Macedonia Farms, New Milk Farms and Cheesco.
