Our trip to the tiny world of atoms and molecules brought us to an unknown island. We explored its surface and found different types of rocks. Rocks full of water, ice and air helped us observe the differences among the three matters of state. We saw balloons blowing with baking soda and vinegar and compared ice to water and air
We discussed the difference between eating a slice of orange and a slice of lemon, a piece of an apple or carrot. We realized that acids make foods taste sour, and most foods fit for humans to eat, tend to have more acid than base in their composition.
We were so excited when we saw that the juice of red cabbage changed its color by adding vinegar, milk, baking soda and dishwashing liquid.
We made our own pH scale using, crayons and playdough and categorized common materials into acids and bases in our scientific notebooks.
