V is for Volcano (STEM Academy)
31st January 2017

Hot lava is running down the mountain. What is it? A volcano! The Energy Heroes explored the boiling hot world of volcanoes. We brushed up on our earth layers knowledge and understood where lava comes from. We watched volcanoes erupting and talked about the different types. We even sang the Lava song! Then, we put our rain boots on and with our materials in hand we headed towards the vegetable garden. In our greenhouse we started making our own active volcanoes. We used soil, soda bottles, some vinegar and some baking soda. Our eruptions blew us away! Joy and laughter filled the room. The children played with mud and enjoyed working together. Messy play is our favorite!
