Water Pollution here we come (STEM Academy)
13th February 2017

Our field trip to the wetland of Kalochori was mesmerizing. The Power Magnets got the opportunity to observe the major contradictions of the area.

An amazing lagoon with rare bird species, like wild pelicans and flamingos, surrounded by waste. Car wires, plastic bottles and pipes.

We admired the magnificent wildlife and understood how vital it was to take action and stop polluting the environment.

When we got back we handcrafted a water filter to clean up the dirty water we collected from the wetland and filled a tank with water, rubbish and oil to see if we can clean the water from oil…

Sadly the results weren’t as optimistic as we’d like them to be, but we know now that respecting the environment is of utmost importance for all of us.
