Let it flood!
20th September 2017

Can we protect ourselves from extreme weather conditions? That was a question our Grade 5 students were challenged to answer. After viewing the prime example of the Netherlands in dealing  with floods and learning about houses on stilts in Asian countries, they were separated into groups. Their only aid was a sketch by the school architect. Ms. Polyzou, straws, glue and cardboard paper. Their mission was to complete their own construction that would save them from a flood. One after the other the houses were placed in a basin and flooded with water. They did prove to be unsinkable! Mission accomplished!
