Grade 6's Adventure in Crafting the Future: The Race Car Project
12th December 2023
Imagine a world without wheels - challenging thought, isn't it? Wheels have been pivotal in shaping human progress, and our sixth graders got a hands-on experience understanding this through their latest STEM project: The Race Cars! In a fascinating journey back in time, students explored the invention of the wheel and its monumental impact on human civilization. From the basic concept of rolling logs to the modern marvels of transportation, they learned how this simple invention revolutionized the way we move and connect.
But this wasn't just a history lesson. It was a challenge! Students were tasked with designing and building their model race cars. The STEM Lab buzzed with excitement as these young inventors brainstormed, sketched, and built their versions of the ideal vehicle. This project was more than just about building a car, it was about understanding the importance of design and functionality.

This project was a testament to the power of active learning. Students didn't just learn about the wheel's history, they applied these lessons to create something tangible. The Race Car project underscored the importance of STEM education in fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and a love for innovation.
