Let it rain! (STEM)
30th January 2017

Let it rain!

Students in first grade have kicked off the new trimester learning about the Water Cycle in English! Today, we donned our lab coats and were off to the STEM lab to learn about how clouds produce rain. We learned that when clouds get too heavy with water and can’t hold it any more, the water falls down to the ground. Students demonstrated this in small groups with water, shaving cream, and food coloring! One by one, each group received a cup of water and put shaving cream on top, followed by food coloring. As the coloring was absorbed by the shaving cream, it became too heavy and fell down into the water (much like rain!), turning our pure water blue!
