The American Farm School is expanding its smart farming network coverage which now includes the area of Vassilikon, Thessaloniki with a pilot installation of sensors for measuring atmospheric and soil parameters.
Sensors are mechanisms of automatic measurement of physical quantities that provide useful information for the normal development and needs of the crop as well as the development of enemies and diseases.
The data is collected centrally where it is stored in a cloud and then processed to turn the information into useful tips and decision-making tools from farmers. With the help of high technology, the right decisions can be made for irrigation and crop protection.
