Μάθημα Αγγλικών - The Marshmallow Challenge
22. 10. 2018

Our 11th grade students took part in the Marshmallow challenge during their English classes after watching a TED talk by Tom Wujec –a North American writer, designer and business consultant- about how we share and absorb information! The idea was simple: teams of 3-4 students had to build the tallest free-standing structure out of sticks of spaghetti, a yard of tape, a yard of string and a marshmallow, which had to be on top. Although it seems really simple, it’s actually pretty hard because it forces people to collaborate very quickly. The idea, introduced by Peter Skillman, was incorporated into a workshop conducted across the world with students of all ages, designers, architects, even the CTOs of the Fortune 50, and its main aim is to reveal very deep lessons about the nature of collaboration. Our students had the opportunity to find out more about the way they work individually as well as members of a team and also use the English language while doing it! For more information on how the marshmallow challenge is used around the globe please check www.MarshmallowChallenge.com
