A study abroad student testimonial

Experience an unforgettable semester or summer...

...exploring Greek history and culture on the international campus of the American Farm School while working or researching in an on campus internship or taking classes.

Live Greece...

…while gathering seasonal produce to cook a traditional Mediterranean meal, and learning about Greek language and dance. Venture into Thessaloniki, one of the oldest, most beautiful cities in the world, to follow in St. Paul’s footsteps or visit museums, markets and shops. During the week you can work or do a research project on the American Farm School’s educational farm, or earn credit toward your degree by taking classes and engaging in volunteer projects on the farm or with local and international community service organizations. On weekends, you will travel through Greece, soaking up the Mediterranean sun on the beach, exploring quaint mountain villages and medieval monasteries, reliving ancient Athens and testing your limits by climbing Mt. Olympus.

Study Abroad you can afford

The Study Abroad Program fees cover on-campus room & board and use of facilities; instruction in Greek language, cuisine, history and dance; academic credit; and organized trips and excursions.

The Semester/Summer Internship Program fees cover room & board, health insurance, orientation and use of facilities. All participants also have the option to go on a four-day sailing trip, do a homestay and engage in service learning activities.

Learn in a stimulating academic environment

Living alongside Perrotis College’s international student body, study abroad participants can choose from a number of undergraduate courses, all of which are taught in English and accredited. Along with the Greek Cultural Experience class, the courses offered cover a variety of areas, including Service Learning, The Greek Palate (Greek & Mediterranean Cuisine), Contemporary Nutrition, Current Issues, Dairy Technology, Agrotourism Principles & Practices, Precision Agriculture & Environmental Sustainability, Marketing Management, and others – depending on student interest. Semester credit for all courses is provided either by Fresno State University or Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Serve, gain hands-on work experience and carry out research projects

Gain valuable work and research experience through a summer or semester internship on the AmericanFarm School campus. Our Semester/Summer Internship Program (SSIP) offers paid and unpaid work and research internships during spring and fall semesters (12 weeks) and during the summer program (six weeks). Interns live on campus with the international student body of the College, and work 30 - 40 hours per week in one of the departments of the American Farm School's model farm, which includes a new educational dairy (which produces what is considered the best milk in Greece), a poultry unit, greenhouses and field crops, olive groves, a vineyard and a winery. Under special arrangements, interns can also work in other departments of the American Farm School. University credit is also available for the internship, for an extra fee.

Earn credits towards your undergraduate degree

Now you can study at Perrotis College and earn U.S. credit towards your undergraduate degree through Warren Wilson College. Warren Wilson is a four-year private liberal arts school in North Carolina, known for its Environmental Studies program and its commitment to combining academics, work, and service in its curriculum requirements.
